Wiring a House From the Ground Up

New construction is the one time every wire can go exactly where it should. It is also when decisions about service size, charger readiness and lighting control are cheapest to make.

Electrician Hunts Point works with owners and general contractors on new homes, accessory dwelling units and major additions. We size the service from a load calculation, lay out every circuit with you, and plan for what is coming, such as an EV charger in the garage or a heat pump on the side yard. Then we rough in, pass inspection and finish on the builder's schedule.

What New Construction Wiring Includes

One electrical partner from the first plan to the final sign-off.

Service sizing

A load calculation that sets the service and panel size for the house as designed, plus sensible room to grow.

Electrical layout

Outlet, switch, lighting and appliance locations planned room by room and agreed in writing.

Temporary power

Construction power arranged early so other trades can start on time.

Rough-in

Boxes, cable and low-voltage pathways installed once framing is ready, neatly stapled and protected.

Charger and heat pump readiness

Circuits or conduit placed now for the equipment you plan to add later.

Lighting plan

Recessed, pendant and exterior lighting positioned with switching that makes sense for how you will use each room.

Inspections at each stage

Rough-in and final inspections booked ahead so the schedule does not slip.

Finish and documentation

Devices and fixtures installed, every circuit tested and a full panel directory handed over.

How We Work With Your Builder

  1. Plan review

We review the drawings, run the load calculation and produce a written electrical scope and price that your contractor can schedule around.

  2. Rough-in and inspection

When framing is ready we rough in the whole house, usually over a few days, then call for inspection before insulation.

  3. Finish and final

After drywall and paint we set devices and fixtures, energize and test every circuit, and pass the final inspection.

Why Builders Bring Us On

We show up when framing is ready

Rough-in is scheduled with the contractor, not squeezed in around other work.

Future-ready by default

We ask about chargers and heat pumps before the walls close, so the circuits are there when you need them.

Clear paperwork

Scope, load calculation and panel directory are all in writing for the owner's records.
